ABOUT YOUR CANVAS
BEAUTIFUL HANDCRAFTED PREMIUM CANVAS WALL ART
All our canvas wall art is made by hand.
We do not use framing or stretcher machines in the production of your canvas.
We use 38mm kiln dried pine stretcher bars (other thicknesses of frames are available on request 18mm or 50mm) These are mortice and tenon jointed and include stretcher wedges, giving you the ability to re-stretch your canvas if ever needed.

CANVAS EDGE FINISH
Important things to remember that when choosing your canvas wall art.
The choice in your canvas edge finish detail can have a dramatic effect on how your canvas looks on your wall.
The two most popular choices are the canvas stretch & the canvas picture wrap. These are explained in more detail below.
CUSTOM CANVAS WRAP
We can also offer you a custom service if you would like a different finish to your canvas.
You may wish to have a solid colour of your choice.
SOLID COLOUR CANVAS WRAP
You may wish to choose a colour from your image or to match your home decor. Again this also has the advantage of not losing any of your main image.
We are passionate about what we do at The Canvas Art Studio and will be only too happy to help you in your choice.

PREMIUM PHOTOGRAPHIC CANVAS & SUPERIOR GALLERY FRAMES
GALLERY STRETCHER FRAMES
We do not use framing or stretcher machines in the production of your canvas.
We use 38mm kiln dried pine stretcher bars (other thicknesses of frames are available on request 18mm or 50mm) These are mortice and tennon jointed and include stretcher wedges & brace bars on frames over 30". This makes a very strong, robust but light frame and also gives you the ability to re-stretch your canvas if ever needed. Using specialist kiln dried stretcher bars is paramount to ensure a stable platform to display your art. We cannot stress the importance of this. Timber that contains a high moisture content will shrink and twist as it dries out in your home environment. This can have the effect of making your canvas distort or ripple and your canvas will become loose or slacken on the frame, ruining your beautiful canvas artwork.
BEWARE! Many companies on the internet will use cheap untreated square edge timber that will leave an impression mark around the face of your canvas. In some cases this is not even joined properly, but simply nailed and very poorly constructed. Some even use very cheap Medium Density Fibre board or MDF which is totally inadequate for the job. Our specialist stretcher frames have rounded edges and are designed to hold your canvas face with the minimum of contact. This is by far the best way to display your canvas.
PREMIUM PHOTOGRAPHIC CANVAS
We only ever use premium, 350-380.gsm bright white, 100% real Photographic Canvas. A matte, bright white, 100% cotton inkjet canvas which is completely seedless for near perfect photographic reproductions. It offers a wide colour gamut. Again, many companies use a cheap lightweight synthetic canvas or a blend of both. This simply does not produce the crisp imagery, colour gamut, brightness nor clarity that our superior real canvas produces. We believe in giving our customers a premium product & maintaining our reputation, without sacrificing quality over profit margins, nor thought for the finished product. Our customers deserve better.
